US has been using economic sanctions all these years on small countries. Countries which unable to defend themselves militarily and economically.
When US impose economic sanctions on Russia, it was a big mistakes. And EU is dumb enough to follow US.
Putin has bee planning to do something about atrocities by Ukrainian facists for 8 years. Russia has been accummulating wealth quietly and play dumb even US doesnt have the clue on Russia's intention.

A girl from Russia Head Treasury, Elvira is her name come out ways how to beat US sanctions. US and EU needs uranium, titanium, crude oil, gas and etc. They have to have them. They thought Russia economy will collapse since nobody trade in rubles.
Instead, Elvira suggested that any countries want to buy crude oil and gas from Russia, they need to open an account with Gasprombank and pay in USD or EU then Gasprombank will convert USD and EU to rubles. Rubles novedived intitially but bounced back and become stronger ever since. Strongest so far.
Money transaction with SWIFT were banned but Russia open many accounts with PRC and create SPIEF.
Air travels were banned using Russia plane but PRC offers Russia with their plane. Now Aeroflot can fly everywhere..
Putin is clever. Biden is a fool. Macron and Ursula are like school pupils to Putin.

Now, 3 largest populated continent creates new economic zone and offer new trading route by air/sea/rail, trading currencies..

Even though the stock is being unrelentingly shorted Hibiscus is still a exceptionally well run business with great free cashflow, great assets and a significant future ahead. Eventually this will shine through and sense will prevail. With the market cap now at 1.8 billion and annual revenues projected to match this with very healthy profit margins and cash flow, no debt, strategic assets and reserves in Asia the North Sea (where energy security will be an ongoing major issue) and assets which far outvalue it's share price. It's a bargain, a diamond in the rubble. Even though in now in the red I'm holding and will accumulate more becuase I beleive in the long term fundamentals of the business. I'm sure if Malaysia doesn't appreciate Hibiscus that can always delist and move somewhere like Singapore which, I'm sure, would. Time will tell.

div exdate price just few days back at 1.07 and after 3c div....... its down to 90c.... truly unexplainable, as crude stayed about the same... is there something about the repsol acquisition that we are not aware off?

either is foreign fund exit malaysia as interest rate hike or probably some fund manager hit the margin call..BUT mark my word.. next week strong rebound..as their own director bought a lot on 22 and 23th..they remain confidence on this counter!!

It depends shareholders structure of the company also. If many retailers bought their shares with margin then they would be very worried of FED hiking interest rates and trimming their position to reduce the exposure then trigger downward spiral effect.

From today onwards till next week, crude oil prices will rise again amid;
1. US crude oil inventory will need replenish and running low around 1.8mil bbl.
2. An emergency meeting on Thursday (today EST) between major US oil refiners e.g. Shell, ExxonMobil, Chevron CEOs and Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm also failed to produce concrete solutions to reduce oil prices, but the two sides agreed to work together.
Granholm conceded that high crude oil prices was caused by US Government decision to clean energy transition and;
Biden admitted the effect of Ukraine - Russia conflict adding further to higher crude oil prices.
FYI.
Ps crude oil price should already rise by now.

Probably the sell down exuberated by the negative good will that is accounted for. Remember that the expenses went up 5X. There is considerable cost involve in this acquisition because it involves 2 countries . Its a producing asset. Contribution from this asset would be substantial. Oil price is USD. Ringgit down would be another PLUS
