Regulating private medical cost is a proposal that will take time as it involves many stakeholders. There is a time lag and packaging a price for a medical solution may not necessary cause lower profit margins. Today's strong correction is a great opportunity to accumulate both Sunway and Sunway PA.

For Sunway Group, medical health services is one of the key earners, not the ONLY earner. They have construction and properties divisions. Hence a close to 6% correction to SUNWAY today is overdone.

I believe for private hospitals they can charge whatever the company sees fit.
Nothing much to complain.
At the end of the day, customers can decide which hospitals to visit.
There's always an option for government hospital with subsidized healthcare for those who cannot afford private hospitals.

BNM has issued directives to life insurers and takaful operators to review medical insurance re-pricings with a view to lower the earlier proposed increases. At the government side, a committee of ministries of finance and health together with BNM will surely ends with pressures on hospital billings. Expected earnings dent on Sunway medical division will be there likely in Q2-2025 although not significant due to other businesses.

Closed the year today at 4.79, Sunway Bhd's past recent 4 quarters EPS at total 16.05sen put it at PE of 30x. Meaning it has already factored in potential earnings from new data centers construction projects and potential listing of the hospital division. Listing the hospital does not increase its EPS but only the market valuation. Can they double the EPS so that the PE is a more normalised 15x ? Will be a tough challenge in view of many issues in-coming in 2025 : increase in electricity, complexities in the full implementation of e-invoicing etc. TIME TO SELL AND TAKE PROFIT FIRST!
