Now the bank can borrow whatever monies from BNM mah...!!

Even payment moratorium no problem, except for HP ( which a small portion of the loan} the bank still can charge interest & earn income loh....!!

That means the bank can pay dividend mah...!

CWYeong...check Maybank DPS and EPS for the last 20 years...there are some years that DPS is bigger than EPS...even Maybank use debt to make sure we shareholders get dividend despite the market conditions..and their dividends are always around 6%-8% despite went through multiple market downturns...I'm no expert but that was what Maybank historical track record tells me..

This Covid pandemic cause economic recession worst than previous history. As I mentioned, bank won’t make much profits during these few month, Unless Maybank announce early retirement scheme to cut its cost.
The worst is coming on next year, non performing loan % is increasing on next year due to bankruptcy & unemployment % increase. You still believe that Maybank will give you good return? Investors no others share to invest which is better & lower risk than Maybank? To be honest, for Maybank royalty investors, you are hugging a time boom.

The Fed was bluffing all along. They could not stop their QE. The mere mention of scaling back QE spooked the markets. They could not normalize their interest rates.

Munichin said as long as USD is still the currency of international trade, the Fed could do QE forever. If they keep preventing other countries from using USD thru sanctions, it will be the end for them.

Maybank is our national bank, sort off. If Maybank goes down, it means our economy is doing pretty bad. Short term maybe up and down, long term with the good dividend, it is worth to buy and hold now. Will it grow x2 x3 or x4 your money? Unlikely. But it is a stable stock to hold in times like this.
