“In a lacklustre market with low trading volume, uncertainty prevails. However, dividend yield stocks shine as a promising avenue for investors seeking stable returns.

Meanwhile, the financial sector and the consumer sector, particularly banking stocks, presents an enticing opportunity with attractive dividend payouts.

Don’t be so sure that PN will sweep. We have to wait and see. Even if PH wins Selangor, Penang and Negri it will be quite remarkable. So don’t jump the gun!
In terms of dividend, PB is this one of the best. If you think of it carefully investing in PB investment should not worry you and you can sleep well. Nothing to worry because if Maybank and Public Bank crash our entire country is gone. In terms of banking sector in Malaysia we still have a very good reputation internationally. In fact PB is the second strongest bank. You will never loose out in long terms.

Grab as much as u can at low price

Buy as much as you can! Agreed! Religious fanaticism and being raciest is common globally. Remember how the Chinese were treated in Australia and many white countries during the pandemic. There are still pubs in UK that only the whites can patronise. Look AT the political boycott by imposing all kinds of economic restrictions by US to wards China. Monopoly! My advise for those with borrowed money not gamble but those with excess money to by good strong banks with excellent dividends. I still believe that by mid- August before the dividend PB will be about 4.30. Election results will temporarily have minimal effecs. Shares should be bought fr the investment point of view and not speculations. Have a good day!

There maybe some turbulence pre and post state elections but nothing to worry about. Consider a good time to pick up more. But in the long run nothing to fear. These are cycles and they come and go. Currently enjoy its dividend! Ha! Ha! Ha!

Posted by BlackDiamond > 2023-06-29 09:28 | Report Abuse

Dividend! Has to be good! They have to maintain their reputation! As it is, the share price is low and they need investors confidence which is what we are banking on otherwise they shooting themselves. Mind this bank has tons of reserves. Let’s See!

haha.. i sold off all at 3.90 made a tiny profit and the article provided me a small window to escape. I knew it would drop. you know why? Buy Rate was over 65%. when it hits 60ish... get ready to run if you dont have much margin for paper gain. I then parked at 3.85 bought some.. i wanted to park at 3.83 but didnt expect it to drop much more. when u get these sort of feel good article beware, fund managers working together to trap billis

meanwhile, don't be too worried as there will be plenty of opportunity to escape in July and until early August as Dividend announcement will usually come end August before mid Sept ex-date. big sharks doing their best to eat profit here and there for stakeholders returns. I have a feeling its was our EPF sell off just now as they have been buying so heavy these past few days. we'll know by tomorrow. if indeed EPF then what someone share before is true. when EPF buys, you sell. when they sell you buy. I saw them buying up a lot lately so I was expecting them to sell off soon especially when Dividend announcement only in August. then this 'good news' article came out.. sweet.. just my ticket to escape.. so sharks happily goreng a bit and sell off made a huge killing, trapping the billis in process

@1pingpong good, you must hold very low average pricing on this stock.
meanwhile, just my 2 sens but i dun think state election will have much impact on bank stocks. if you say sin stocks like gaming alcohol stocks then bit possibility like what happened to PAS led states on Magnum and Toto counters etc. more likely federal election will impact all stocks whether banking or sin stocks as major policy change will impact foreign investors.

Good Morning! Mr Jef l see that you are playing the speculative game. Let me make it clear that it’s unlikely that EPF is selling. They are buying as it’s at a very good price to pick up. PBB IS A INVESTOR STOCK NOT SPECULATIVE! When fund managers come and go is usually unnoticed. It’s a matter of time and PB will hover around 4.80 so please MARK MY WORDS. Diamonds will always remain diamonds whether they are purple or black. Only QUEEN ELIZABETH owns a black diamond and it’s the only one in the world! Good Day!

@BlackDiamond I don't speculate my friend. I sold down cause I wanted to lower my average holding price for PBB. That's the difference. Like Harimau, been holding PBB since mid 2020 so no... am not a speculator. Reason why PBB will drop further is because their profitability NIM has been on decline since last quarter unlike Harimau. look at the chart line and you'll see. This was the reason why PBB although well managed and making profits but share price still stuck on ground floor. I want to lower my entry cost for PBB cause I want to maximise my DY. Maybe my investment strategy might seem strange to some investor's like you but it has worked well for me and no reason why I should change now. I just share with fellow PBB investors here that it is likely that the share price will continue to move sideways until the next QTR report. If it is good, then a breakout will continue. looking at today's price at 3.91 its already buy rate at 65%, want to bet that it will drop back down before the day is over? I just share my sincere views here. Not expecting anyone to take me seriously. Btw, the buy rate which I share was what we learned from my Broker Bank's Head of Analysis. Just becareful dont fall into the 'Bull Trap'

on this note, noticed that the last shareholders report on shareholdings for PBB was on 28 June? When will the report for 29 & 30 June report be out? The last time I saw this happened was with either Harimau or Tenaga. EPF heavily sell down but the report was not out till a few days later. Normally companies have a few days grace period to report on changes in shareholdings. Well I could be wrong but I noticed big funds always take turns to buy and sell, today is EPF buy, tomorrow EPF sell, Amanah take over and vice versa. Almost as if they work together to control the market price. Maybe it's coincidence, maybe not. Looking at the RSI today its on the decline and MACD line is tapering off into negative... If all anyone feels strongly that the bull will continue to rise, please go ahead and buy more

On the subject of Value of diamonds, some interesting facts from my source (Tiny Virus laaa)....

1. The rarest diamond color is red. Natural fancy red diamonds are so scarce that even tiny red diamonds can command auction-worthy prices. Only 1 carat out of every 10,000 carats mined is a natural fancy colored diamond, making rarer colors with high saturation extremely valuable.

2. The cost of a pink diamond will range from $10,000 per carat for a less intense pink diamond to $700,000 per carat for a deep and intense pink diamond. The color intensity and carat weight of pink diamonds are the two most important factors that

3. In comparison to the rarer fancy colored diamonds, natural black diamonds are relatively affordable, and comparable in price to colorless diamonds. A fancy black diamond will cost anywhere in the region of $3000 to $5000 per carat. This would mean your average 1 carat wedding ring is likely to cost $3000.

4. While large natural black diamonds like the Black Orlov are exceptionally rare, you’ll find black diamond jewelry readily available.

For your information, l may be new to this group but Im neither new to PB or the market. Anyway you definitely have done lots of homework especially on diamonds. Impressive! Anyway time is always the answer! In the long run unfortunately we will which shins more the black or pink. Good Luck!

All Good Jef! No Worries! I had PB shares and l then moved to the US market and bought their technology stocks. I’m now back to Malaysia and somehow have an affinity to PB! Not that I’m a pro PB, but l believe there is no other safer than PB with the current political situation. From the point of view of administration it has been rated as on of the best banks in Asia for the past 10 years. It doesn’t matter if the old man is in heaven or——. So instead of keeping money in FD may as well hold in Public! This is my ideology! Always Play Safe! When others are selling you buy and vice versa and you will never go wrong. Than Be Patient!

@BlackDiamond you should also explore Harimau, DY is above +6% compared to PBB at +4%. without the Old Man, market is now jittery as they are not sure who will eventually take over excess balance of share holdings ownership of the PBB as his heirs cannot hold more than a set 10% (if not mistaken) of share holdings. also all his beneficiaries probably having table talk at this very moment as well. a lot of uncertainties. that's another reason why this stock is sluggish. any who, market can be certainly unpredictable. for all our sake as PBB investors, hope you are right too. peace

Without respect to any parties. TEH Family stake in PBB and other related companies are wire round in a trust account. Family members have limited holdings to circumvent the so called limitation holdings imposed by BNM. Individual or congolemerate eyeing PBB stake have limited access to Teh family holdings. Teh Hong Piau is a man with foresight and have the best adviser he can signed on. Day to days running is tied with the Management { with the Board having an eye on their performance }. It's not far fetch but Teh has built up a solid PB foundation thru hard work and integrity. Deep rooted Teh influence is ingrained in PBB work culture. There won't be too much changes in the coming years unless the present Board & Management composition is changed drastically. Teh right hand man Tay Ah Lak is still helming the ship. PBB is still solid based on current scenario
