United Utilities Group PLC has a market cap of USD8b with revenue around USD2.5b and record a positive profit while Wessex revenue only USD600m with losses recorded thus represent only 1/4 value of the UUG. Given that, USD8b*1/4=USD2b value worth. No one will want to buy wessex over UUG based on that RM21b valuation.

UK is currently failing apart and face fierce economic and political issue within, watch youtube about how Britain are complaining their cost of living and you will know. i seriously doubt the regulator will approve the significant increase in the water and sewage bills, especially under the new "extreme right" Labor govern.

Only potential AI hub also face issue due to biden proposed policy of chips export. YTL Power act too slow in building their AI centre. Time is of value, especially in tech world. They just dont understand that. For sure they are selling that compute power to China, now they face big problem because of their slow reaction.

Not to mention YTL communication mobile department will never profit in foreseeable future. 5G cloud gaming, such a joke. Western already abandon this due to impractical and no demand at all. and bloodbath with other telecommunication provider will only increase their market but not profit, simple, it a red sea in telecommunication world. big eat small.

The big drop last Thu was because "Nvidia and AI Chip Stocks Brace for Impact as Biden Administration Considers New China Export Ban"
[Nvidia fell 3% last Fri]
Since then, "Nvidia and SIA fire back at US gov's new export restrictions on AI GPUs to China"
https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-industry/artificial-intelligence/nvidia-and-sia-fire-back-at-u-s-govs-new-export-restrictions-on-ai-gpus-to-china
Malaysia is under Tier 2
Tier 2: Most countries in the world (including Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Mexico, and Latin America) will face limits on computing power they can procure.
However, individual companies from these countries will be able to get higher compute capability if they obtain 'validated end user' (VEU) status by complying with U.S. regulations.
YTLPower having Nvidia as a direct partner, will have an advantage over all others including Google, Microsoft etc.

The share price will be volatile, good money is buying in YTL Power while others are panicked selling.

YTL Power is trading at less than 10x PER on just utilities earnings, excluding any AI data centre contribution. It is a big bargain to foreign funds who have been buying in for 3 consecutive days.

Wessex Waters has turned around, and with the favourable final determination by Ofwat last December, all the water companies in the UK will see healthy jumps in profits in next 5 years from 2025-2030. With the approved capex of GBP4.2 billion for 2025-2030, Wessex's Regulatory Capital Value (RCV) will expand to almost GBP8 billion by 2030 and Wessex's equity value to YTL Power will definitely expand to over RM30 billion in 5 years.

I do not expect supply of Nvidia chips to YTL Power to be affected at all by the latest round of restrictions, though Malaysia falls under Tier 2 countries.

As the clients so far for YTL Power's AI data centres have been all US companies
(Nvidia, a US hyperscaler and an MNC), these US companies can apply for exception to the restriction.

The other customer is Sea Ltd (Spore company) which is a stock listed in NYSE.

None of YTLPower's customer is a Chinese company.
Hence the news on AI chips restriction from the US is NOT applicable to YTLPower.

Foreign funds net bought RM21m of YTL Power shares on Tuesday and another RM6m worth of YTL Power shares on Wednesday.

Foreign funds top stock net buy was YTLPower accounted for 19 million shares on 9 Jan 2025.

YTLPower is Macquarie's top pick for Asian Market in 2025.
The target price set by Macquarie and HLIB is 7.00.

Good luck.
Thank you.

How and where to see if foreign fund sell or buy ytlp last week? The sectors with the highest net foreign outflows were utilities (RM142.7mil), financial services (RM130mil) and transport and logistics (RM92.5mil).

@GSX1111,
I have no idea on foreign funds movement, I buy YTLP for a bit longer term investment.
I believe in the huge profit from AI data centres.
Likewise, I also believe in power generation profit.
I believe YTLP will perform very well in next 2 years.

Good luck.
Thank you.

---------------
I do not follow TA to cut loss on YTLP at all.
I bought more YTLP today.
I bought more YTLP shares at 3.00 a few weeks back when the technical chart was a downtrend stock.
I am very consistent with my strategy.
Thank you.

According to data from HLIB, foreign funds have made 4 consecutive days of net purchase of YTL Power shares:

9th Jan (Friday) - RM15m
8th Jan (Thursday) - RM19m
7th Jan (Wednesday) - RM6m
6th Jan (Tuesday) - RM21m

Foreign funds are more well informed and have been buying up the cheap tickets being dumped by local funds and retailers.

Malaysia expected to be placed under tier 2 of the trade restriction. But imagine we are placed under tier 3, the entire AI and data centre play in malaysia will be devastated. why speculate? Just wait and see.
