Push up a bit dump , push up a bit dump ! This is most dangerous tactic to hurt retailers hard earned money ! Dont be greedy to catch this sharp falling knife ! The worst is yet to come !

Logically speaking, institutions will still invest in CTOS, you can talk until the cows come home and their support will still be there. Institutional investors would've known of this ongoing lawsuit and didn't affect their decision to invest more into CTOS, the sell off today is from shortsellers who are taking advantage of the negative ruling by the judge.

Target Price : RM1.15 ↓ We downgrade CTOS to UP with a lower DCF-derived TP of RM1.15 (from RM2.00) as we attach a higher risk premium stemming from a recent court decision which ruled that the group’s credit scoring facilities have been performed above their legal capacity. CTOS has since filed for an appeal, which we expect its credit scoring products to be substantial contributors to the group. For now, business risks appear to deepen with likely immediate repercussions being a challenge to its business model and similar legal suits arising in the near-term.

When those retail investors are panic selling, institution investors are buying.
CTOS main customer is institutional creditor , not retail individual buyer.

Most American banks use the score provided by central scoring central.
However, Malaysia bankers seldom use CTOS score as benchmark because it has no reference value.
Malaysia Bank uses CCRIS as main reference (as long as no overdue and installment is ZERO delay, you are good), CTOS is secondary system to find out bankruptcy case and any due with other agencies (ie. hutang with Maxis , Astro , Telekom and so-on).

Who is selling and collecting now?
Retail investors are selling, institutional investor are grabbing cheap stock, day traders are goreng for quick profit. The ending will be price go back to RM1.45-RM1.50 and investor still enjoying the same / higher dividend.

Control by private equity purely for profits while naive retail investors believe blindly on them. High valuation
and high PE to suck in naive investors to buy their stocks.

credit scoring shd be given by bank not CTOS unless CTOS is a bank

Posted by Tom Teng > 2024-03-12 12:36 | Report Abuse

CTOS is a joke... I complete settled car loan, no late payment for housing, advance paying housing loan reduce principle.....but SCORE keep drop from month to month... Is CTOS mean need payment exact can not pay more in order have high score...
From day 1, how this non-sense company exists in the world.. ????

Posted by Balian de Ibelin > 2024-03-12 12:38 | Report Abuse

banks have their own credit scoring all along.

CTOS is just for fun purposes. These people have nothing else to do to spend their time on.

CTOS is even worse than BAT. Both have no tangible assets.
At least BAT give you 10% dividend yield coming out from your own pocket.....

Per news, currently short selling in the company's shares have been suspended until tomorrow following the sharp fall in share price.

Once short selling reopen tomorrow, it will be another round of Durian Runtuh…
Beware!

Business as usual, people who using CTOS to check credit rating will continue using, as there is no other reliable replacement.

Loan being reject why blame CTOS, should blame the lender or applicant ownself.

Warren Buffett: Be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful.

While the court decision is negative to share price, the recent pullback by 20% has made CTOS price attractive due to these reasons:

1. CTOS still can appeal (and they have filed to Court Of Appeal)
2. Current share price is near IPO price of RM1.10
3. Compare the market cap loss of RM500m-RM600m today to the amount paid of RM0.25m due to the court case. 0.25/500 = 0.05% !

@AlphaInvestor
Warren Buffett theory is for stock with strong fundamental and NOT for stock like ctos whereby its core business model is under significant risk….

Can appeal does Not mean anything. Also the judge has made rightfully decision according to Credit Reporting Agencies Act 2010 regulation..

If its core business tumble, that’s the end of Ctos.. regardless how low the price is
