PBBANK is very resilient.

Last week when Japan fell 12% and small caps fell 8%, I waited to pick up PBBANK at 4.06 hoping that it would do a gap fill to add. That didn't happen. The lowest was 4.08 and I missed to add, even though it is my 3rd largest holdings. And last Friday, it's back to 4.24 like as if the fall to 4.08 never happened.

This stock has recovery power, as I have blogged before.
- you want to own this for long term wealth accumulation.
- you want to buy more when price gets lower.
Owning this and 30 others stocks (in a diversified holdings) will help you grow your wealth over the long term.

If you are still in accumulation stage (e.g. in your 20s, 30s, 40s, even 50s), you should welcome lower prices.

PBBANK typically announced dividends at 2nd half / end August. Last year this time, it was 9 sen. I hope this year, this time, it can improve its EPS YoY and look forward for it to maintain the 9 sen dividend for this year, before growing in the future.

Mostly all banking sector is doing well or will be doing well, why? as the economy is back on track and expected lower interest rate following US to further boost the economy, PBB will once again gain the momentum be prepared to shoot up high.

For the hopeful, since 26-06-2024, the stock price of PBBANK is uptrend: about price = 0.00768*day + 4.023674. So, if this trend continues, around September 23, the price "was" 4.50. This uptrend is independent of dividend/profit announcement. If the figures of the result are good, it can shoot up early. (Having said that, I have no plan to sell, so the numbers are meaningless for me.)

if you want to talk about 1930 the banking issue that time there was no proper preventive measure and less awareness. Today is 2024 a lot been changed in banking and finance in regard to rules and regulation. Malaysia banking eco-system does not face the same risk as Singapore bank does as we are more 'close-loop'. I think you shall go back to your HDD as you dont seem to understand how bank works here.

Hi @calvintaneng, there are specific regulations in Malaysia that govern the recommendation of stocks (the rules are subtly complicated, you may read/research further yourself). Recently, stock recommendations by "experts" disappear from Saturday Star Paper, haven't you noticed. My humble "advice" is not to recommend any stock particularly in PBBANK forum. Furthermore, the stocks you recommended are from portfolio managers - we do not know what is their strategy. Stock's price is like FIAT money, it goes up and down daily, and who knows.... Let the forum members decide what to do with their PBBANK stocks, but cheerful news is generally welcome.
