This is a rubbish stock. Some bankers informed me that Danny is trying to make a comeback to Tropicana again. He is doing the same thing as his brother. Better dump all your shares now as share price will drop with this news.
There is no W hotel disposal, they never indicated they are selling the hotel. Also now is not sellers market. There will be compliance with public spread as the difference is v little. The only thing dragging this stock down is Danny interfering with the management and doing all sorts of side deals. Once he comes back to Tropicana this counter is finished just like Berjaya.
Last few years, Tropicana managed to hire a few top professional managers in the property and corporate world. They included Yau Kok Seng, Kok Kong Chin, Edmund Kong and a few others. However, one by one they left the company. The last to leave was CEO Yau Kok Seng. Part of their remunerations is in share options. If you look at the share price movement, I think they do not make any money from the share options scheme.
@origins, I agree with you. Danny should not come back to Tropicana. The company is aldy in bad shape because of his interference. Good professional managers left the company partly because of the share options. We don't want Tropicana to be like Berjaya Group.
Danny has too many land banks privately in Johor as well as other states in the country. How can he be running two property companies at the same time ? When it’s good land bank he always keep for himself, when it’s landbank he can’t afford he makes Tropicana acquire it. Look back at the Albedo deal he tried to do in Singapore. The amount of land banks he collected privately is enormous. When the time is right he will develop his private projects again and compete against Tropicana. What type of conflict of interest is this? Danny deserves a gold medal when it comes to destroying minority shareholders interests.
I am sure that is one of the reasons why all the professional managers left - they probably had enough of his nonsense and stupidity.
I remember when Danny did the restructuring on Tropicana in 2013, he mentioned that the structuring was good for the minorities and Tropicana because he could full heartedly concentrate on Tropicana after injecting all his private assets. He said it would benefit Tropicana in the long run.
Unfortunately he lied to the market and all the shareholders. After the restructuring he ventured off to acquire his land banks under his private vehicles with the intention of developing them. After stepping down and resigning from Tropicana he is now planning to make a comeback to lie to the market and all the shareholders with another round of excuses. How can anyone believe him after all this? Must be one of Malaysia's greatest lying tycoons. Who is going to believe him when he owns swathes of land all over the country. It is very obvious and clear that he is still developing privately. All you have to do is call the sales hotline for Tropicana Cenang. The sales gallery is also open for walk ins at Langkawi island. I am very sure Danny is behind this project thats why its called Tropicana Cenang. The logo is also a 100% match to other Tropicana projects. If the authorities can be bothered to do some digging they will find out who are behind the proxy shareholders in Cenang Resort Sdn Bhd.
Who do you think is behind Tropicana Cenang or Cenang Resort Sdn Bhd? It would be none other than Danny. Tropicana Corporation Bhd is probably being used as a project manager and marketing agent for his private projects.
