Note Fredashaver: Agreed this yield curve is applicable to the market generally, but there are exceptions. Rules and regulations sadly are not meant for everyone. I have been following PBB for the past 25 years and l have seen its pattern during the good and bad times. Of course there will be minor fluctuations for PBB but on the whole it is solid like a rock because of its financial strength and good management. Investors fear not, as you will never go wrong. Don’t sell and buy more if have the means. Don’t be carried away by all those making rigid rules. Good Luck!

Dividend may be higher! PBB is supposed to be the second biggest after MBB and are making tons of profit so likewise PBBs dividends should be second highest after MBB otherwise it doesn’t make sense. Just watch PBBs dividend will surprise you.Also it’s only wise to reward investors especially when the share. PBB IS A EXCELLENT INVESTMENT ON LONG TERMS.

PBB good share to hold long term but certain factors has made holding the share now questionable. Use caution and don't be greedy just for a few cents of dividend. Nothing is free in this world.

Nothing is certain at the moment! Our currency is down and is currently disastrous to take money out. Dividend is a few cents gain if you are a small time investor. If you put big money in, the dividend is no longer small or a few cents. Looking overall l still feel PBB and MBB are still good investments at the moment. On the whole with the global problems and our ailing political situation the outlook for everything is very bad which ever way you go.

Remember you guys, l predicted that it be unlikely that it fall. It has all the qualities of a good counter. You will never go wrong if you go long term. But at the same time l will have to stress that its dividends are essential. This reminds the advise given by head master in his 80s. He started buying PBB in the early 60s when he was a young teacher.He worked as teacher in school and followed by tuitions everyday. He accumulated as frequently as he could. In the process he educated 3 of his children abroad. Today he has a comfortable home, a good car, 3 highly educated kids and lots of PBB shares at his disposal. His advise, keep buying and only sell on essential duties like education, health or parental assistance. He still buyes! So long term investors will never go wrong but also expect good dividends not only to boost their morals but also to keep reinvesting. Good Day! Sorry to bore you guys with old grandfathers stories.

The investor of today unfortunately cannot profit from profits of yesterday.
However, PBBANK is still showing signs of earnings growth, notwitstanding the passing of its founder.
I own some, but agree it's still worth accumulating on dips.
I'm waiting for the second interim dividend.
Usually (not always) this is announced in Feb, but last year was announced in Dec, so, I look forward to this announcement.
Sometimes, one gets a chance to accumulate on the cheap, more than the fall in dividend, after it goes ex-div.
If an opportunity arise, we may be able to accumulate more.
Longer term, if it keeps growing its earnings, any price we buy now will be cheap a few years later.
Owners must be willing to accept slow and steady growth, as this is now the 2nd largest stock in Bursa - it can't run like a small bank anymore.

@BlackDiamond, I agree odds are very high, it will eventually hit 4.70 ... usually, just a matter of time.
However, it needs to prove it can go past 4.30 and stay above there after retesting.
If not, we may see price falling back down to 4 or below, depending on market sentiment too. The odds of this happening is a minority, but not impossible.
In general, I won't chase, however, if PBBANK falls, then, it's a stock that warrants very serious consideration to add on price weakness because this stock has a proven history and culture of eventually surpassing its previous EPS high ... this is in its DNA, even without its founder.

It's TTM dividend yield,at 4.25 price, is around 4.2%, which if compare against FD rates, is extremely good, because you own a business long term that is bound to make new EPS high. So, if you own lots of FD, good to diversify some into PBBANK. Because to me, PBBANK as an investment, on a forward looking basis (not historical basis - historically, it is clearly so much better) is still just so much better than FD ... period.

If you are a trader, you'll find PBBANK stock price movement boring ... but boring attracts very serious long term investors interested in long term wealth accumulation. They don't look at 1 or 2 or 3 year returns but much longer than that. Typically, only 1% (very small minority) of investors would find this attractive, and they make huge long term wealth accumulation. Most "investors" are not real investors.

As far as prise is concerned agreed that EPF may be playing their usual games. This is possible! Of course it’s excellent buy at 4 or even lower. Actually anything can happen! Good Luck Investors! But my advise is not to borrow and buy as you may get bombed!

The ROE of PBB is 10%+.
It's P/B is just below 2×.

It is a bank. Banks in the financial sector enjoy many economic moats and also some challenges, eg Fintech.

Over the long term. We can expect growth in banking business in line with growth in GDP.

The valuation of PBB todsy, for those with a 5 to 10 years investing time horizon, is undemanding. The potential future upside should be many times that of its potential downside, over the long term. Don't predict its price over the next 1 to 3 years, the vissicitude of the stock prices in any market, creates opportunities for investors like the story shared in previous post.
